Searching for books

How to find books in the library:

Look on the shelves!

  • Look around on our shelves the books are organized in the Library of Congress system of numbers and letters.
  • To find titles about a particular topic, look at the posters on the end of the library shelves to find the section it might be in.

Look in the library catalog on a computer!

  • On the main library web page, find the box that says Library Catalog click it and there you will find a search box OR search the box that is just below. It searches the same thing.
  • In the search box, try searching words or phrase such as “soccer player” or “music AND Colombia”.
  • Write down the letters and numbers (the call number) on the record and match those to what is on the spine of the book.

You can ask a librarian to help at any time!
